Finances

The Association Incorporations Act 1991 repeatedly mentions the requirement of correct reporting of the financial position of the organisation. Committee/board members share an equal responsibility of, and common liability for, monitoring the financial health of the organisation. Administration

Having good quality systems and processes in place will ensure the information being produced is correct and committee members can be comforted in the knowledge that they understand the current financial situation of the organisation. Child Protection

The Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 (the WWVP Act) commenced on 8 November 2012 and outlines legal requirements for individuals working with children to undertake a police check in the Australian Capital Territory. Organisations that require employees or volunteers to work with children may have their own policies that cover Child Protection.
